Let's talk curriculum!

So, my oldest daughter will be starting 1st grade in August, my middle child will be starting K5 and my two year old will also need fun activities to keep her occupied during school hours.

Needing curriculum ideas for my 1st grader and any great websites that has free printables is also a plus. I want to go ahead and get started with my planning now and have a notebook full of printables when the new school year starts back.

With that being said, please share!

Feel free to also share my post. The more tips and suggestions the better!

  1. Oooh I love planning :-) I mostly blog about free homeschool resources. You can click the Homeschool for Free tab at the top to find complete curriculum, or just browse back through my homeschool category for lots of printable ideas. Please share your plan when you get it all figured out!

  2. :) How exciting!!!
My background is in special education (cross certified in elem. ed) and also as a reading specialist....
    I would highly recommend
    starfall.com
and readingatoz.com for printable books at this age that include sight words as well as decodeable, fluency texts, and narratives.
I should do a post on this since it sounds like this is the homeschooling planning season...will work on one for next week...

  4. Good morning Shasta,
Thanks for joining in with my Back to Preschool Blast.
Your daughters are such cuties by the way. I also have 3 little girls, plus we were blessed with a son back in Feb. My girls are 5, 4 and 2 and we are using My Father's World for our homeschool for the first time this year. I love the way everything is integrated in Kindergarten. I am not as sure how 1st is organized as I haven't used it yet.
Will have to think of some sites out there with free printables. Too early in the morning to really think.
Oh, and my girls LOVE more.starfall.com. There is a small fee (I think it works out to $3 a month), but there is so much for the girls to do. It expands on the phonics from starfall.com and it includes so many fun math games. Number recognition, counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and geometry are all included. As are colors, songs, nursery rhymes, books to read. One of the "subscriptions" included in the giveaway is a free months trial of more.starfall.com. And there will also be one included in the second prize pack. They have offered more and I wasn't sure how to use them. I am thinking maybe I will offer some to those who sign up somehow. I will get a hold of them and see.
I will be sending you an email shortly.
    Have a blessed day
    Karen
